What's the difference between ceiling white paint and regular flat white wall paint?

Both are pure white and flat, so why can't they be used interchangeably? Or what happens if one is used in place of the other? What's the difference between ceiling white paint and regular flat white wall paint?
Ceiling paint is formulated to minimize dripping. Some brands of white ceiling paint appear purple when wet (so you can see where you have put it) and dry white, which can be handy.

Wall paint is a bit more durable than ceiling paint (after all, you don't rub against the ceiling).

You can use ceiling paint on walls, but it might scrape off or mark easily. I wouldn't use it on walls.

I've used normal paint (wall paint) on ceilings, it goes on fine, and only drips if you use too much. What's the difference between ceiling white paint and regular flat white wall paint?
Ceiling paint is this horrible off-white color that isn't really white. DOn't use it. Use a nice Ultra-white flat paint instead.

Ceiling white is usually flatter than flat white wall paint. It also is not as whits as wall paint. It seems a little gray. I never use ceiling white because it doesn't cover as well as wall paint and it isn't as white.
Both will work, but they may be slightly different shades of white. If you used them both side by side you would notice a slight difference.
