What color should i paint the ceiling?

my room is fairly small. i want to paint my walls a dark-ish red/pink color. should i leave the ceiling white? or should i pant the ceiling the same color as the walls? or should i paint the ceiling a really light color, like yellow, green or blue, to complement the color of the walls???What color should i paint the ceiling?
I would leave it white. Having a room all one color is too much and having a new color would just seem weird. If you were doing your color scheme something like red/pink and blue or red/pink and green then do the ceiling a very light version of the accent color. What color should i paint the ceiling?
It should definitely be lighter than the walls to avoid feeling like it's falling on you ... but can be a lighter version of the wall color.

BTW, Home Depot has a ceiling paint that's specially formulated for ceilings ... you might want to check it out.
much lighter ceiling -- perhaps a very pale blue. I'd think twice about painting a small room a dark color -- you'll feel caged in.
The ceiling should be lighter, but be careful---If the ceiling is white and the walls a strong red colour, it's quite possible for the red to reflect onto the ceiling and give you a pink ceiling, depending on your lighting and especially in daylight. This happened to me once with a purple room. I got a mauve ceiling by mistake, not pretty. You might be better off with a colour, keeping the red reflection in mind.
I would definitely go with a lighter color. Perhaps a lightER pink or red color. Yellow would probably look okay also, it just depends on things like your furniture or other room decor. One way to find a paint color you like is if you take a poster board and paint it the color you are thinking of painting the wall, then stick it to the wall and leave it there for a while. This allows you to see what the color will look like in the different light and you can decide whether or not you like it there. Whatever you choose remember you can always paint over it. Have Fun!!
I would use a very very pale pink.
I would go to where you purchased the paint for the wall and have them mix the same color at 25% formula of the wall paint color. That way you have the same color but a light version of it.It should be mixed in flat if you use it for a ceiling.Don't have it mixed in regular 'ceiling' paint, use regular flat paint instead...color will be more accurate.
