If I paint my ceiling with a flat paint is it ok to use a semigloss or an eggshell paint for the walls?

Will the 2 different sheens clash or will it be ok. I plan to do the ceiling white and the walls a light beige. If I paint my ceiling with a flat paint is it ok to use a semigloss or an eggshell paint for the walls?
Buy the ceiling paint that rolls on pink or purple but changes to white when it dries. It makes the job so much quicker. You don't spend as much time trying to figure out if you rolled an area or not.

Take it from the one with experiance :)

Yes. It's standard to have flat paint on the ceiling, and then a glossier or flat finish on the wall. If you're going for something with a little more gloss than eggshell (which has a pretty flat finish), go with a satin. I would stay away from a semi-gloss on the walls - gives it too much shine on such a large surface - looks great on trim though. Good luck
if your room is small. use a semi gloss on the ceiling to help reflect the light back into the room ......

flat paint wont reflect the light ....

one more thing if you add, one table spoon of you wall paint , to the ceiling paint , it will tint it real nice make it blend in much better
That is the only way to go for a finished look....it will make your walls look taller....I'd do teh walls a little deeper on the color chart than light beige ....it might just look dirty or out of place otherwise.....you could do a patch test after you have finished the ceiling.....
The paint for the ceiling is fine. I feel a semigloss satin finish( looks like flat paint when dry) would be better for the walls. If you have a family the walls can be washed down better than flat paint.
Yes you will wantto use the flat paint on the celing and semi gloss or eggshell on the walls. The finish willl look great.
flat on ceiling is ok.....id stay away from semigloss on the walls and go eggshell......
